Have you struggled to get back your pre-baby body after pregnancy? A mommy makeover can restore and enhance your figure and give you back your confidence. If you feel like your body will never look the same again, a mommy makeover can help.

What is a Mommy Makeover?

Your LPS surgeon will perform a combination of several procedures during a mommy makeover. Your mommy makeover will include procedures to address your concerns, so each is different. Having several procedures during one surgery means that you only have one recovery period. After you recover, you can enjoy a rejuvenated, more sculpted figure.

What is Included in a Mommy Makeover?

Your LPS surgeon will advise you on which procedures will work best for you based on your goals. The general core of a mommy makeover includes:

  • Tummy tuck (also known as abdominoplasty)
  • Breast enhancements (e.g. mastopexy, breast augmentation)
  • Liposuction

Your mommy makeover can also include a labioplasty or facial enhancement procedures. While a mommy makeover usually includes breast enhancements, this can consist of a breast lift (mastopexy), augmentation, or even a reduction.

How is a Mommy Makeover Performed?

The most common part of a mommy makeover is a tummy tuck. Pregnancy stretches the abdominal skin, loosens or separates abdominal muscles, and causes sagging. During a tummy tuck, your LPS surgeon will typically use an incision hidden below the bikini line to repair the abdominal muscles and tighten the skin.

If your breasts lost volume or started to sag after pregnancy, your surgeon may recommend breast lift with or without a breast augmentation. Your surgeon will perform liposuction on any areas that need it, including the abdomen, flanks, thighs, and upper arms. Other procedures will depend on your treatment plan.

What is Recovery Like From a Mommy Makeover?

If your mommy makeover includes a tummy tuck, you can expect two to three weeks of recovery time before resuming normal activities and six weeks before heavy exertion or lifting. Most people can return to their ordinary routine within two weeks for a mommy makeover that does not include a tummy tuck. Your results will become more visible as swelling improves, usually a few weeks after surgery. Results will continue to develop for up to a year as your body settles into its new shape and residual swelling disappears.

Am I a Good Candidate For a Mommy Makeover?

You may be a good candidate for a mommy makeover if it has been six months or more since your last pregnancy. If you plan to become pregnant again, you may not be a good candidate until you have finished expanding your family. You should maintain good overall health and have reasonable expectations about your results.

I was recommended to Dr. Morris through my doctor at BID-Needham. Due to prior surgeries, I had some issues and Dr. Morris is the best. He has done a fantastic job with my abdomen core and I feel and look fantastic.
