Am I a Good Candidate for Post Weight Loss Body Contouring?

If you’ve recently lost a significant amount of weight and are ready to combat the loose, sagging skin that’s left behind, you might be a good fit for PWL contouring. You should be close to your ideal weight without fluctuations for at least several months before considering post weight loss surgery. Men who are otherwise healthy adults both physically and mentally are typically the best candidates for the procedure.

What Results Will I See?*

Although you’ll see some immediate improvement after surgery including a reduction in lax skin, the majority of results are gradual and progressive. As any post-operative swelling subsides more visible results will continue to occur. In most cases, you can expect an optimal outcome in about 3-6 months with further improvement over time.

Post weight loss body contouring is a long-lasting procedure. Most men find a newfound sense of self-confidence that gives them the motivation to keep weight off for good. Scars are typically in locations that are easily-concealable and should gradually mature in about six months to a year.

What is the Recovery Like?*

Recovery after post-weight loss body contouring can vary depending on the procedures enlisted to meet your goals. While every guy is different, you can expect to take 1-2 weeks off work with most weight and activity restrictions lasting 2-4 weeks. You can likely start to incorporate more strenuous activities around this time as you feel comfortable. Full recovery can sometimes take several months or more.

Your skilled surgeon will customize a recovery plan based on your specific procedure at the time of your consult. Closely following your surgeon’s instructions can facilitate a smooth and easy recovery.
