The Average Cost of Breast Augmentation Surgery

According to WebMD, the average cost of breast augmentation surgery ranges from $5,000 – $10,000. However, this cost often does not include general anesthesia fees, outpatient fees, or prescription medication prices. This average cost also reflects the price charged by surgeons of varying skillsets. The price you’ll pay can be significantly more or less than the national average.

Beware of Discount Breast Augmentation Surgery

A higher price point typically represents a higher standard of care when it comes to plastic surgery. This procedure will impact the overall contour and look of your chest, so beware of discount pricing before proceeding with your breast augmentation.

Given that this number doesn’t represent the actual final price of breast augmentation surgery, what other factors influence the total cost you’ll pay? Let’s take a look.

What Influences My Breast Augmentation Cost?

Influential factors vary from plastic surgeon to plastic surgeon. In general, you can expect the following to play a significant role in the final price of your breast augmentation surgery:

  1. The type of breast implants you’d like
  2. Where the implants will be placed (above or below the chest muscle)
  3. The experience levels of your plastic surgeon
  4. The location of the plastic surgery suite

The best way to find out what you’ll actually pay is through an in-person consultation. Your LPS surgeon will speak with you about all the variables involved with your procedure and customize a treatment plan accordingly.

I thoroughly enjoyed my consultation with Dr. Derek Reformat, who was clearly well informed about my case, as well as fully answering my questions. It was clearly evident his level of professional knowledge current. I appreciated his true analysis of my particular situation and subsequent recommendations. He was also helpful in recommending a breast surgeon for me to contact. The office attempted to contact the surgeon’s office, but it was a holiday, therefore unsuccessful.

What I did not enjoy was the wait time, however, I understood that several patients, including myself, had not received the email we were supposed to receive prior to our appointment, thus requiring us to complete forms online which created a delay. Wait times are common in Doctor offices, therefore, it was acceptable.

I recommend that this process be reviewed so future delays can be avoided.
