Do I Need to Stay Overnight?
Nope! The procedure generally takes about 1-2 hours and is done either in our state-of-the-art surgical suite, an outpatient facility, or hospital. Our doctors perform this procedure on an outpatient basis, so you will be able to go home the same day.
Will I Be in a lot of Pain?
Most women feel uncomfortable in the first few days following their surgery. Prescription pain medication and anti-inflammatory medications will be provided during this time. Ice packs can also be utilized to reduce pain and swelling. You’ll also be given oral or topical antibiotics or a combination of both to prevent potential complications.
How Should I Clean the Area?
A warm water rinse is recommended after each bathroom visit. Avoid traditional soaps which can be irritating throughout the first 5-10 days of the healing process. Gently pat the vulva area clean and dry before applying fresh bandages. Our doctors will provide you with in-depth information at the time of your consultation.
When Can I Return to Work?
That depends on your individual surgery as well as your profession. In general, women who have non-strenuous jobs can return to work in about one week.
