Sleep is important to recovery, and how you sleep can affect your healing. You will be provided with a surgical bra that you should wear at all times, including during sleep. You should also sleep with your upper body elevated, which will help reduce swelling and discomfort.
You should not sleep on your side immediately after breast augmentation since this position puts pressure on your healing breasts. Most people can start sleeping on their side again after three to four weeks but should continue to wear their surgical bra and support their breasts with pillows.
