Is There Any Downtime After Kybella®?
You can resume your usual activities after Kybella® with few limitations. While you will not need downtime, most people experience swelling in the treatment area. This swelling can take a few days to fade entirely. Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours after treatment.
You may notice different sensations in the treated area as Kybella® acts on your fat cells. The swelling occurs due to the damage to your fat cells. It indicates that your immune system is working, which helps your body remove these cells more quickly. You can promote good lymphatic drainage by staying hydrated and physically active.
How Long Does It Take to See Kybella® Results?
Each person will respond differently to Kybella®. Most people need between two and four treatments, with a maximum of six. More submental fat may require more Kybella® treatments than someone with a small amount. Each person’s body also varies in how quickly it will remove the treated fat.
Kybella® results start to appear about two weeks after your first treatment. With treatments spaced two to four weeks apart, you will continue to see improvements for several months after your last session. Fat cells do not grow back, so your double chin removal can last a lifetime. Weight changes can alter the appearance of your results, so a healthy lifestyle is recommended.
Am I a Good Candidate for Kybella®?
Kybella® offers an excellent option for double chin removal. However, it is not recommended for everyone. Good candidates for Kybella® are in good health and have reasonable expectations. Some medical conditions affecting the neck might affect whether you can have Kybella® safely.
