Is a double chin making you feel self-conscious? Kybella® is a non-surgical way to eliminate unwanted fat under your chin and achieve a slimmer, more sculpted neck. This injectable treatment breaks up fat and clears it away to restore your confidence and attractive neckline.

What is Kybella®?

A double chin, also known as submental fat, is an extremely common problem. This area is a common place for the body to store stubborn, unwanted fat, and once established, it can be almost impossible to get rid of through diet and exercise. Kybella® is an effective injectable treatment that eliminates this challenging fat. Although it requires several sessions, many people prefer Kybella® to other methods due to its lack of scars or recovery time.

How Much is Kybella®?

Kybella® is a customized treatment so the cost will be different for everyone. Factors that affect the overall cost include:

  • Your location
  • Your injector’s skill and experience
  • The number of injections per treatment
  • The number of treatments needed

The national average cost of Kybella® is $1,350, but it can vary widely. A vial of Kybella® can cost between $600 and $800, and you may need more than one vial depending on how much fat you need to remove. We recommend a consultation so we can examine your double chin and develop a treatment plan that meets your needs.

How Does Kybella® Treat a Double Chin?

Kybella® works by breaking up fat cells, allowing the body to eliminate them over time. It uses a compound called deoxycholic acid. This acid occurs naturally in your digestive system and helps your body digest fats. Kybella® uses a lab-produced version of this compound. When injected, it targets the fat cells in your double chin and damages them. Your lymphatic system will filter away these damaged fat cells.

Is There Any Downtime After Kybella®?

While you can return to most of your usual activities after Kybella®, you should avoid strenuous activities, alcohol, and NSAIDs like aspirin or ibuprofen for 24 hours after treatment. Most people have no downtime and return to work or their daily routine immediately. You may notice redness and bruising in the injection area, and most people experience swelling that can take up to a week to fade.

What Results Will I See After Kybella®?

Kybella® results appear gradually as your body removes treated fat cells. Most people need two to four treatments, although some people may need up to six. We space these treatments four weeks apart, and you will start to see results a few weeks after your first treatment. Full results can take several months to develop as the last fat cells are filtered away.
