Women have many different reasons for wanting to enhance their breasts. The popularity of breast augmentation shows how important breasts can be to a woman’s self-image. If you are considering breast augmentation surgery, you most likely have many questions, including how much you can expect to pay.

What is Breast Augmentation?

Breast augmentation usually uses implants to add volume, enhance breast shape, and improve symmetry. However, you have an implant-free option called fat transfer.

This procedure uses liposuction to remove fat from a donor area, then injects this fat into your breasts. Most breast augmentation procedures use implants, but a fat transfer procedure makes an excellent choice for some people.

How Much is Breast Augmentation Surgery?

The cost of breast augmentation depends on the procedure you have, your location, and your surgeon’s skill and experience. The average breast augmentation surgery costs $4,000 to $4,500.

You can expect additional expenses such as anesthesia, medications, and other fees. We recommend a consultation for the most accurate possible estimate.

Breast Implants or Fat Transfer Breast Augmentation?

Your LPS surgeon will discuss the risks and benefits of both breast augmentation types. While breast implants are more common, you may find that a fat transfer procedure meets your needs better.

Breast Implants

  • Choice of saline or silicone implant material
  • Typically last 10-15 years before requiring a replacement
  • Provide a wide variety of shapes and sizes to meet your goals
  • Slight risk of an implant rupture requiring implant removal

Fat Transfer

  • Uses your own fat to eliminate the risk of a reaction
  • Results that last a lifetime
  • Limited volume enhancement (usually one or two cup sizes)
  • Results look and feel completely natural

What is Recovery Like From Breast Augmentation?

Recovery from fat transfer breast augmentation takes less time than augmentation with implants. After getting breast implants, you will usually have swelling, bruising, and soreness. You should arrange to have someone assist you for the first day or two.

Most people can go back to work in less than a week. You can resume light exercise after about two weeks and normal activities after four to six weeks.

What Results Will I See With Breast Augmentation Surgery?

You will notice changes immediately after surgery, but swelling takes several months to resolve completely. You can expect your implants to last ten to fifteen years or even longer. If you have fat transfer breast augmentation, your results will last a lifetime, although they may change as your weight changes.

Am I a Good Candidate for Breast Augmentation?

You may be a good candidate for breast augmentation if you want to resize or reshape your breasts. We recommend that candidates be in good health and not smoke. If you have hesitated to get breast augmentation because of concerns about implants, you may be an excellent candidate for fat transfer.

I was recommended to Dr. Morris through my doctor at BID-Needham. Due to prior surgeries, I had some issues and Dr. Morris is the best. He has done a fantastic job with my abdomen core and I feel and look fantastic.
