Do You Feel Your Weak Facial Features Aren’t Doing Your Overall Appearance Justice?

Redefine Your Facial Contours at Longwood Plastic Surgery!

Plastic surgeons use facial implants to improve and enhance facial contours. Frequently, these implants will help provide a more harmonious balance to your face and features so that you feel better about the way you look. There are many implants available, manufactured from a variety of materials. At LPS, our skilled, board-certified surgeons often use implants to help strengthen a jawline or bring the chin into balance with the rest of the face.

How Do Facial Implants Work?

Your operation may take place in an office-based facility, a freestanding surgical center, or a hospital outpatient facility. In some cases, facial implant surgery may require only local anesthesia combined with a sedative. However, more frequently, general anesthesia may be recommended to keep you comfortable throughout surgery.

Longwood Plastic Surgery offers a variety of implant types, styles, and sizes allowing for custom treatments. Each procedure is tailored to your individual needs and goals at the time of your initial consultation. Meanwhile, the insertion of a chin implant may take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. In some instances, combination procedures can be done for total facial enhancement.

Am I a Good Candidate for Facial Implants?

Plastic surgeons will frequently use such implants to bring better balance to the features of both patients young and old. Whether you’re looking to reshape your nose or bring your chin forward Longwood Plastic Surgery can help.

Facial implants can enhance your appearance and bolster your self-esteem. If you are looking for improvement, not perfection, in your appearance and are realistic in your expectations, you may find that a facial implant is the right choice for you.

What Results Will I See?*

Some initial improvement can be seen immediately. However, you may not be able to accurately evaluate your final appearance for weeks, or perhaps even months. Give yourself plenty of time to get used to your new look. You may be surprised to find that most people won’t recognize that you’ve had facial implant surgery – only that you look better. Facial implants tend to be long-lasting and give you results that you’ll love for years to come.

What is the Recovery Like?*

Recovery from facial implants is typically fairly straightforward. In most cases, you’ll be able to go home the same day. You will experience some discomfort and swelling in the affected area for several days, which can easily be managed with prescription pain medication. Many men and women feel comfortable returning to work, school, or other day-to-day activities in 5-7 days.

Remember, with any facial surgery, you may feel and look better in a short period of time. However, it may not be advisable to participate in certain activities – especially activities that may result in the face being jarred or bumped for several weeks. It’s best to check with your plastic surgeon about such matters.
