Types of Top Surgery at LPS
At Longwood Plastic Surgery, we offer both FTM and MTF Top Surgery. Essentially, MTF Top Surgery is a long-lasting procedure that provides chest feminization, while FTM Top Surgery is a long-lasting procedure that provides chest masculinization.
With over 40-years of combined experience, our team of highly-trained surgeons can create customized treatment plans to help you safely reach your aesthetic goals.
Massachusetts is generally considered more advanced in what’s covered by insurance when it comes to reconstructive and gender-affirming surgeries. Check with your insurance provider to determine your eligibility.
Male to Female (MTF) Top Surgery
The average cost for MTF Top Surgery can fluctuate significantly based on your body size, body shape, and desired breast size. These surgeries can cost anywhere from $5,000 to $10,000. MTF Top Surgery can include autologous fat transfer or the placement of medical-grade implants either above or below the breast muscle. Implants offer long-lasting results but may need to be removed or replaced in about 10-years.
Female to Male (FTM) Top Surgery
This highly personalized procedure can range anywhere from $3,000 to upwards of $10,000. The cost of your FTM Top Surgery is dependent upon your contouring goals as well as your current physical condition. For smaller chests with little to no excess skin, a nipple-sparing subcutaneous mastectomy may be sufficient. Conversely, patients with larger chests and bigger bodies might be better suited for a subcutaneous mastectomy with free nipple grafting which can come with a higher price tag.
