Motherhood is a life-changing experience, and while moms fully embrace most aspects of having children, there are some less pleasant aftereffects, such as the toll pregnancy, birth, and nursing can take on the body. It’s completely normal to desire a return to your pre-pregnancy figure, and Longwood Plastic Surgery can help you with a single procedure called a Mommy Makeover.

What is a Mommy Makeover?

You’re busy, and with little people to look after, you may not feel you have time to focus on multiple recoveries from individual procedures to restore your pre-children figure. LPS has your answer with the Mommy Makeover. By combining multiple aesthetic procedures into one overarching surgery, LPS can restore your pre-pregnancy figure all at once, so you experience one recovery period and can quickly get back to your busy life and family.

The most common restorations include a breast lift or augmentation, a tummy tuck, and liposuction, though a Mommy Makeover may also involve labiaplasty, a lower body lift, and even facial procedures. LPS is happy to address any concerns you have.

Am I a Good Candidate?

If your family is complete, maybe it’s time to consider a Mommy Makeover. If you’re a woman in overall good health ready to return to pre-childbearing stature, you should be at least 3-6 months past your most recent birth, and should ideally be 6 months beyond breastfeeding for breast enhancement procedures. Call LPS today for a thorough consultation.

Recovery and Results

Your Makeover is performed under general anesthesia in our state-of-the-art surgical center, or if you request an overnight stay, at the hospital. Pairing procedures surprisingly does not extend recovery time, so you’re on your feet with the healing of your most extensive procedure. This is most frequently the tummy tuck, as the muscles of your abdomen often require abdominal wall repair following pregnancy. Most moms can be on their feet after the first few days, and are encouraged to slowly add back normal activities as can be tolerated. Moms working outside the home often return to their jobs within 2 weeks, while some may need 3-4 weeks before returning to their positions.

In some cases, such as breast augmentation, you may see an immediate improvement in your profile. However, most of your results may need some healing time before you’re fully able to appreciate your new look. Results may take a few weeks or months to fully settle into position.
