The skin around your eyes shows signs of aging before the rest of your face. Sagging skin and undereye bags can take away from your youthful, energetic appearance. You can restore that brightness with a blepharoplasty or eyelid lift. This procedure corrects loose skin, excess fat, and puffiness to rejuvenate your eye area.

What is Blepharoplasty or an Eyelid Lift?

A blepharoplasty or eyelid lift is a procedure that uses small incisions to tighten the skin and remove excess fat from the eyelids. It also repositions the underlying muscle to hold the eyelids in a lifted, more open position. An eyelid lift brightens and restores the eye area, so drooping skin or undereye bags no longer bother you.

Top 3 Benefits of Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Lift)

An eyelid lift can do more than any eye creams or treatments can achieve. Some of the benefits of this procedure include:

1.Look Younger and More Alert

When you think of a youthful-looking face, you probably think of bright, wide-open eyes. Blepharoplasty helps restore this appearance, letting you look alert and interested. You may notice that your rejuvenated appearance even makes you feel more refreshed.

2.Feel More Confident

Even if you have mastered the art of concealer, you cannot hide undereye bags or sagging lids. When people make eye contact, you may feel like they only notice these issues. Blepharoplasty lets you feel more confident looking others in the eye.

3.Improve Your Vision

Upper eyelids can droop so much that your eyes start to look “hooded” or shadowed by overhanging skin. This loose skin can begin to obscure your vision over time, but an eyelid lift can correct this and restore your entire range of eyesight.

How is Blepharoplasty Performed?

Your LPS surgeon performs an eyelid lift using a small, hidden incision. They will disguise this incision on the upper lid in a natural crease. On the lower eyelid, they may make an incision inside the lid. They will remove excess skin and fat to tighten the eyelids, then restore the underlying muscles to their correct position.

If you have drooping eyebrows or forehead lines and wrinkles, you may choose to have a brow lift with your eyelid lift. When performed together, these procedures can rejuvenate the entire upper face.

What is Recovery Like From an Eyelid Lift?

Most people recover quickly after an eyelid lift. You can usually return to work within five to seven days. You will have some discomfort in the first few days, but this will improve quickly. You should limit physical activity until your LPS surgeon clears you to resume your usual exercise routine.

I was recommended to Dr. Morris through my doctor at BID-Needham. Due to prior surgeries, I had some issues and Dr. Morris is the best. He has done a fantastic job with my abdomen core and I feel and look fantastic.
