What to Expect During Your CoolSculpting® Treatment
CoolSculpting® is done in-office and takes hardly any time at all. Depending on the size and location of the treatment area, your procedure can be done in as little as 35-minutes. You may feel a slight burning, stinging, or numbing sensation as the fat-freezing treatment begins to take effect. However, this usually only lasts a few minutes of your total procedure. Most men and women find the procedure to be fairly comfortable.
What Happens After Coolsculpting Treatment?
There is no downtime associated with CoolSculpting®. You’ll be able to get back to your normal day-to-day routine immediately following treatment. Side effects are typically minimal and subside on their own within several hours to several days. These can include redness, swelling, tenderness, blanching, bruising, and/or firmness.
Over-the-counter pain medication should be sufficient to manage any discomfort you experience directly after treatment. A light burning sensation and numbness is common in the days following your procedure. Compression garments and light exercise can also help reduce pain and inflammation during your initial recovery. Your LPS provider will discuss other ways in which you can keep yourself comfortable in the hours after treatment.
